About

FROM SPECIALIST
TO IMAGE MAKER

For years, creative industries were divided into separate disciplines.

Photographers took the pictures. 3D artists built the CGI worlds, animations and scenes. Retouchers refined the images. Art directors oversaw the whole process.

Today, these boundaries are disappearing.

AI is changing the way images are created, but it is also creating a new challenge: visual chaos.

The professionals who will thrive in this new landscape are

Cihan Ünalan, Commercial Photographer and 3D Artist

The Workflow

01

BUILD

Create the Structure

Build the scene in Blender. Camera, composition, lighting and perspective are established before AI enters the process.

02

DIRECT

Generate Possibilities

Use AI to rapidly explore creative directions while maintaining control over the visual foundation.

03

REFINE

Post Production & AI Enhancement

Upscale, improve realism, refine materials and solve details using Magnific, Photoshop and advanced AI tools.

04

DELIVER

Production Ready Visuals

Create high-end commercial images and motion content ready for campaigns, presentations and client delivery. Commercial campaign ready.

Workflow: Blender structure, AI direction, post-production refinement, final commercial delivery

Why IMAGE//LAB?

Structure First.
AI Follows.

Most AI workflows rely entirely on prompting. IMAGE//LAB starts with structure.

By building scenes in 3D first, we gain control over composition, lighting and perspective before AI enters the process.

The result is a workflow that delivers consistency, creative freedom and production-ready quality.

CONSISTENCY

Maintain visual coherence across all outputs.

CONTROL

Direct composition, lighting and mood with intention.

SPEED

Generate multiple variations faster and smarter.

QUALITY

Achieve high-end results ready for professional use.

Common Questions

The program begins with a two-week intensive sprint in Paris, where we meet three days a week, six hours per day. During this phase, students build the foundations of the workflow by learning Blender, understanding 3D scene construction and developing the core principles that will guide the rest of the program. The following six weeks take place online, with two live sessions per week (3 hours each). During this period, students work on weekly assignments while also developing their own personal projects. As the weeks progress, project complexity gradually increases, exposing students to a wide variety of real-world creative applications while receiving continuous mentorship and direct feedback. The program concludes with a final two-week sprint in Paris, focused on producing a complex portfolio piece and a short commercial-quality video that combines the complete workflow into a finished professional project.
Absolutely. IMAGE//LAB is designed for image makers coming from photography, retouching, CGI, design and art direction backgrounds who want to integrate 3D and AI into their creative workflow. Whether you're an emerging creative or an experienced professional, the program is structured to expand the way you think, create and produce images while building on the visual skills you already have.
Not exclusively. CGI is one part of a much larger hybrid production workflow that combines 3D scene building, AI-assisted image generation and professional post-production into one cohesive creative process. The goal is not to become a traditional CGI artist, but to become a modern image maker.
No. No previous Blender or 3D experience is required. We begin with the fundamentals and progressively build towards advanced scene construction, always focusing on practical application rather than technical complexity.
Throughout the program we work with a carefully curated production pipeline including: • Blender • Magnific AI • Flux-based models • Midjourney (for exploration and concept development) • ChatGPT • Adobe Photoshop with Generative AI tools Rather than mastering individual software, students learn how these tools work together as one professional workflow.
Absolutely. The entire program is built around producing visuals that meet the quality, consistency and reliability expected in commercial advertising and professional client work. Every project is approached with real production standards in mind.
The hybrid format combines the best of both worlds: intensive face-to-face learning and the freedom to experiment from home. Between the in-person sprints, students continue developing both the weekly assignments and their own personal projects while receiving continuous mentorship and feedback throughout the program. Real creative growth happens through practice—not observation.
A laptop equipped with at least an Apple M2 Max processor (or an equivalent Windows workstation) is strongly recommended. A second monitor is also highly recommended for the online sessions, allowing students to comfortably follow demonstrations while working simultaneously.
Students will need: • Adobe Photoshop subscription (required) • ChatGPT Plus (recommended – approximately €23/month) • Magnific Premium+ (recommended – approximately €27/month) Blender is completely free and open-source. Additional AI tools introduced during the program will either have free options or will be discussed individually during the course.
Weeks 1–2 (Paris) 3 days per week 6 hours per day 18 hours/week Weeks 3–8 (Online) 2 sessions per week 3 hours per session 6 hours/week (Additional personal project time is highly encouraged.) Final Sprint (Paris) 2 days per week 6 hours per day 12 hours/week Students should also expect to spend additional time experimenting, refining and developing their own work outside of the live sessions.
Each batch is limited to 6–8 students. Keeping the group intentionally small ensures that every student receives personal feedback, direct mentorship and individual attention throughout the program.
The first edition of IMAGE//LAB is scheduled to begin at the end of September 2026 and conclude in December 2026. The exact starting date will be announced soon.
